MAY 2019
May was a month exactly as it’s name suggests, “May”be. While we accomplished a lot, we spent a lot of time preparing and discussing future projects. These may only take place in a few months time. Like the Ciniselani Stimulation Centre’s vegetable garden we hope that we will sow these seeds and reap more than we expected.
The projects for this month were a continuation of two very special projects we have been supporting in the past few months. So this is also an update.
We are also extremely happy to report that the Sandringham Gardens Kitchen project’s brand-new state-of-the art kitchen is already in use! We are incredibly proud that we were able to make another donation to this worthwhile project in order to ensure its completion. This is a truly proud moment for Red Bagels. As we now see a dream come true.
To recap, the facility produces approximately 3000 meals a day (which is approximately 100 000 meals a month) feeding residence of Sandringham Gardens, Selwyn Segal, Lodge and the Square, and Our Parents Home. In addition it distributes meals to the community outside their premises. Sadly those in need of food will probably keep growing. However the miracle and great news is that the new kitchen will now be able to continue providing the meals for many years to come. A huge achievement in such a short time with a huge impact! Well done to everyone! It has been an amazing time watching the transition. Now it is both a relief and very satisfying to sit back and watch the kitchen in operation.
The young woman we have been sponsoring for life saving treatments through ground breaking new drug treatments has just finished the first 6 months of treatment. We are very grateful and happy to report she is responding very well. Due to these results we were very happy to have been able to advise her that we will be able and willing to continue to provide her with a further 6 months treatment. We wish her an equally or hopefully even better result in the upcoming 6 month period.
With gratitude and thanks to all who made these projects possible and the humbling experience of the results of these projects we look forward to a future with more hope and enthusiasm.
Another wonderful month of achieving our goal to continue to make a difference in our world.
