Spring arrived in the guise of summer and with the beautiful warm to very hot weather, sunshine, and blue skies, along with blossoms and the promise of new beginnings and renewed energy, hope and possibility came a lot more smiles. We are also praying that we will receive much needed and sufficient rain throughout the summer season.

At last September also brought us the “big reveal” and great celebrations for the children, staff, and committee members of the Ciniselani centre. It was an exceptionally happy and well attended event done with much pomp and ceremony. The children were delighted and everyone had a lot of fun. The smiles and laughter were proof that the completed project was a great success. The finishing touches, such as the mirrors, brought an added extra unexpected dimension of joy as the children looked at themselves in the mirrors.

We would also like to say a special thanks to Jenev Enterprises for the beautiful new towels and facecloths which were generously donated by them. They were a great success.

This project has made it so much easier and more hygienic for everyone using the facilities, with its warm water supplied by a solar geyser and the special wheelchair friendly toilet and basin. Much more importantly though, it has given everyone pride and dignity! We are all so proud of Patricia and the building team led by Nkosana who did such fantastic work on this project. Congratulations on an outstanding achievement. So good in fact that Patricia is receiving so many requests from schools and other institutions from near and far to come and see what has been done in order to try to copy us. In addition there are many new applications from parents who would like to place their children at the Ciniselani Stimulation Centre, as it is fast gaining the reputation of being the best centre for miles around.

Simultaneously, we were able to do more to increase our happiness footprint. This was achieved by giving a few donations to the following organizations:

  • The Chevra Kadisha
  • Yad Aharon

in answer to their requests for assistance, such as providing meals for the upcoming Jewish holidays. Unfortunately, there are a lot of families who would be unable to feed their families this year without assistance. We are very grateful and blessed to know that we will now all be sharing our meals together with family friends.

Our donation to the Selwyn Segal home who care for intellectually disabled people was gladly received as well. It will be used to provide outings, entertainment, and stimulation programs for the residence. These activities increase the day to day enjoyment of the residents.

Wherever there is a person in need, there is an opportunity for kindness and a chance to make a difference.

Thank you to everyone who took that opportunity this month and those who continue to do so.

Have a beautiful day.

Powered by love and committed to kindness. Enjoy bringing love and kindness into the world.
