Pilot Episode — Shylla

After a long wait, I am finally enrolled to this practical course of Software Engineering (known as Proyek Perangkat Lunak in Indonesian), after passing Software Engineering theoretical course (known as Rekayasa Perangkat Lunak in Indonesian). I was really curious about this course especially when seeing those older batch students struggling to finish the software they designed. Now, let’s get it started!

Quote for the next 6 months

The beginning of this course was actually occurred in early January, when we were ‘asked’ to choose between the mentorship or regular class. I chose to try for the mentorship class, because indeed that would be the best choice for people who always craves for a whole new environment (and also new people!) like me. So, we were asked to choose which company and problem/topic we would like to work with. I chose HappyFresh, a company that helps people in doing grocery shopping —it’s where the users don’t need to go to the grocery, they only need to choose groceries they wish to buy via HappyFresh application and HappyFresh’s shoppers will buy and deliver the groceries to them. And the one problem I chose among six problems provided by HappyFresh was out of stock management (topic 3). After few days passed, the chosen teams for mentorship program were finally announced in http://mentorship.cs.ui.ac.id. Yay! I’m one of those students! I got the role I wish and also got paired with the friends I like! So, the team for HappyFresh’s topic 3 is:

Hustler (Project Manager): Muhammad Firza Pratama

Hipster (Product Designer, or typically known as UI/UX Designer): Shylla É. Pramadhani

Hacker (Programmer): Tri Ahmad Irfan, Ken Nabila Setya, Teresa Pranyoto, Muhammad Iddad.

Yay! I love our team!

Day by day passed, holiday was over. It was finally the first week of our sixth semester of studying as computer science students. This Software Engineering class, throughout this semester, will be held every Monday (8–10.30 AM, in Universitas Indonesia), and Friday (3 AM-done, in HappyFresh office). Unfortunately, the first day of this semester was Tuesday (9/2/16), so we skipped the first Software Engineering class that should be on Monday. However, I was so excited and could not wait to go to HappyFresh’s office on Friday. But sadly, because of some problems, the first meeting was cancelled. So we should wait for another week to finally visit HappyFresh’s office.

Stay tune for story about the first week!
