Biography Health is a preventative health platform for physicians to analyze and track a patient’s genomic-based health story. By leveraging genetic analysis, early detection, data science, and AI, Biography Health enables physicians to create individualized, evidence-based healthcare strategies that help patients prevent leading causes of death and live healthier lives.
The American healthcare system is in crisis: increased spending on healthcare is not translating into better patient outcomes. Despite spending more on healthcare than any other wealthy nation, the U.S. lags behind in life expectancy and other key health metrics. A significant portion of Americans, 70%, believe the healthcare system fails to meet their needs.
Chronic conditions are particularly poorly managed, diminishing both the quality and length of life for many patients. The leading causes of death in the U.S. include cardiac disease, cancer, metabolic diseases, and neurodegenerative diseases. There is a 50% chance that an individual will die from complications related to one of these conditions. Unlike infections caused by external factors such as viruses and bacteria, these diseases develop gradually over decades and are influenced by heredity, lifestyle, and environmental factors. Unfortunately, there are no vaccines or simple treatments for these chronic diseases, which often remain undiagnosed and untreated until it’s too late. There is a significant opportunity in healthcare to shift the focus from reactive to preventative care, and that’s precisely what Biography Health aims to do.
Biography Health is a preventative health platform for physicians to analyze and track a patient’s genomic-based health story. Until now, physicians didn’t have the time or training to offer genomic-based preventive health care at their clinics. Biography’s platform is the foundation to scale preventative care nationally. Biography’s AI platform allows physicians to incorporate genetic analysis into their practices to help deliver preventive healthcare to their patients. Biography Health automates the complex task of creating individualized, evidence-based healthcare strategies to deliver superior, patient-focused healthcare. It generally takes a physician 15–20 hours to analyze the lab results and medical history, which is reduced to 3–4 hours with Biography’s automated data analysis. Allowing physicians to focus on telling the patient’s story and supporting the patient vs. building an analysis.
Currently, the Biography Health experience starts when a new client signs up on the Biography Health website. After joining the waitlist, a Pricison Medicine Physician (PMP) reaches out for an initial consultation. Next, Biography Health utilizes its DNAbled™ Process. This involves whole genome sequencing and analyzing millions of genetic variations, creating a comprehensive profile of the patient’s potential disease risks.
Each patient receives a personalized DNAbled Blueprint. This blueprint is crafted from their genetic analysis, complete medical history, and extended family medical history. It contains detailed, personalized, and actionable recommendations based on the patient’s specific risk factors. These recommendations are shared with both the patient and their PCP via a video call. The PMP discusses the DNAbled Blueprint with the PCP, allowing the care team to focus on preventing or detecting serious medical conditions early and suggesting follow-up actions for the PCP.
