Redeeem has always had a goal of expanding the types of products that are on the marketplace, however, we’ve been very conservative with the types of gift carads we’ve allows to be traded.
Today we’re expanding the acceptable offers to allow buyers and sellers to trade more types of products. We will allow the sellers to trade without receipts and also allow receipts with watermarks, or cards that were purchased with credit/debit cards, as well as Amazon eCodes.
As a peer-to-peer platform, we set out with tight restrictions for gift cards to ensure a safe trading experience, and while we still have our same obsession with safety, we are also going to allow these news types of trades.
You’ll see updates on the Buy Orders page as the trade offers will have more detail included to let you know what type of trade this is. We believe with more information, buyers can make better decisions.
We are still recommending to sellers to attach a receipt so their cards sell faster and they have a better chance in disputes, but we will no longer require it. We do still only allow trading with USA-based gift cards.
We believe this move will open more trading opportunities for buyers and sellers and make Redeeem a better and more useful place.
