Rich Perez, planter and pastor of Christ Crucified Fellowship, is grateful for the influence of business models on church planting. But he also believes that making sure a congregation is rooted deeply in the gospel before stepping out in mission takes more than a strategic plan.
“We really had to spend some time planting ourselves in the gospel [before engaging in mission]… And the moment we realized we have to go out and do something major was the moment we would kind of fall on our faces because we weren’t seeped into the soil of gospel life.”
