The issue: turnover. It cripples family and bowling entertainment centers time and time again.

Some churn is natural, like summer employees who run outdoor attractions. While we know turnover is a frustrating part of running a business, it’s especially problematic when there isn’t a streamlined process to train new-hires on critical skills, like merchandising!

You’ve spoken, and we’re listening!

It’s normal to invest roughly 10–20% of a new employee’s pay into training them. Throughout our 21 years of business, one of the biggest concerns FEC owners have shared with us is dealing with inevitable turnover and streamlining a training process for new team members. Did you know regular training can help prevent turnover in your business? Sometimes, tenured team members need refreshed on certain skills, too.

We are here to help!

Introducing: Merchandising 101!

Merchandising is one of the simplest training topics for new team members at FECs, yet also takes a long time to learn because it takes practice to perfect this skill.

Merchandising a clean, organized redemption area is crucial to a guest experience — and to your bottom line.

We’ve created an eCourse to make training new employees on this topic more efficient. We’ve covered all the basics, leaving only hands-on learning left.

It’s also great for staff in your redemption area that need a refresher on merchandising.

In this course, you or your staff will learn:

  • How to merchandise the redemption area in themes
  • About the different types of players
  • How to use the right display methods
  • How to keep up the redemption area
  • Why quality products matter in merchandising
  • The fundamentals of running a profitable crane and merchandiser program (that’s a bonus 😉)

Not only will they learn important concepts for merchandising…

Team members will also experience small wins within the course, providing motivation to do their best at work. These minor milestones can do wonders for your culture and employee performance output.

“When we think about progress, we often imagine how good it feels to achieve a long-term goal or experience a major breakthrough. These big wins are great — but they are relatively rare. The good news is that even small wins can boost inner work life tremendously.” — Teresa Amabile and Steven J. Kramer, Harvard Business Review

It’s quite possible tenured employees are already familiar with Merchandising 101 content, but completing the course will reassure their knowledge, allowing them to feel confident in their skills.
