Redesigning United Wardrobe
2 min readMar 21, 2015

Customers visit the virtual web shop where they cannot experience the actual physical product. At united Wardrobe people buy clothes they have never tried on, felt the fabric of or even looked at from other angels than the seller provides.

The difficulty of designing a better online product experience on this website, is that the content is user generated. The clothes are put online by a variety of users, who just make photos with their phone. Unlike normal webshops, which have professional photo studios, there’s no real control over what kind of product photos end up on the webshop.

We tried to overcome these ‘experience obstacles’ by designing several solutions. First we ask from the seller to include at least 3 pictures of their product. One frontal overview picture, one picture of the product being worn and one close up of the fabric. With these pictures try to give the buyer a better feel and look of how the product looks like.
Secondly, we came up with a solution for not being able to fit the fashion. The seller has to print out a paper with the United Wardrobe logo. This paper has to be placed in the frontal overview picture. Since, this logo will always be the same size the rest of the image can be measured with software which will be integrated in the website.
