When did you attend ReDI? Spring 2018

What course? IoT in action!

What did you like about ReDI? While everyone at ReDI including staffs, teachers and students being professional and knowledgeable, still they represent a down-to-earth and caring attitude and friendship. Such a unique environment not merely equips participants, which are largely non-locals, with right skill-set but more importantly empowers them to land their dream job in Germany.

What is a myth about ReDI? Infinite source of positive energy!

What are you doing now? I am working at Siemens in Berlin as Industrial- IoT Data Scientist for driving automation and digitalization at the production line through the use of big data and artificial intelligence.

What helped you the most to get where you are now? Multiple factors indeed played a major role. To mention a few: never-give-up-attitude, constant learning and improving, and connect with professionals via channels like ReDI to gradually integrate into the market. In particular the “IoT in action!” course was a great bridge at the right time.

Do you have any advice for others? Never say never. Keep learning/trying and push yourself out of your comfort zone. You are the only one on your way to your dream job. Nobody gets it easier; it just sometimes looks that way. Once you realize and discover your hidden potentials, everything becomes reachable.

5 quick tips during Corona:

Movie: The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, Vater und Sohn YouTube videos (fun and innovative way of learning German)

Book: “Vater und Sohn” picture stories by E. O. Plauen (in combination with the above-mentioned YouTube channel), and “Getting Things” Done by David Allen.

Music: Farzad Farzin (Iranian pop singer), Mohsen Namjoo (Iranian pop-traditional singer-songwriter), Tylor Swift, P!nk, James Morrison, Top Hits Music (a YouTube with a collection of pop songs)

Podcast: Kurzgesagt — In a Nutshell (not a podcast, but a great YouTube channel containing animation videos about science), 3Blue1Brown (yet another YouTube channel by Grant Sanderson for teaching math in an entertainment way), and some Artificial Intelligence podcasts.

Activity: Planting, Walking, Cooking, and Creating my Personal Website
