(First) Name: Tishia

I was born in: Los Angeles, California, USA

I work as: Product Designer at N26

I volunteer…currently in the Digital Women’s Program, in the UX/UI Design Course in Berlin. I’ve been a teacher at ReDI since the end of 2017

I decided to volunteer at ReDI because … I wanted to use my skills as a designer to help newcomers in Berlin gain new skills in design. I also wanted to get better at UX design (I was also new to the field) and the best way to learn something is to teach it, right? :)

1 surprising fact about me … I really love audiobooks! Since switching to audiobooks, I read so much more than before — I read 49 books last year!

My best advice to ReDI students … keep learning! This is the most valuable skill — the only way to grow is to keep a learning mindset and to be open to learning new things.

I stay motivated during the lockdown by… doing morning yoga, going for walks and long bike rides and trying new recipes.

5 quick tips during Corona:

  • Movie: Inside Bill’s Brain: Decoding Bill Gates (on Netflix- docuseries)
  • Book: Know My Name, by Chanel Miller
  • Music: SAULT
  • Podcast: Berlin Briefing (hosted by my friends!)
  • Activity: Long bike rides!!
