We’re thrilled to announce that Logan Bartlett is joining Redpoint as our newest Managing Director, starting in March. Logan is joining us from Battery Ventures, and he will focus on enterprise investing in our early growth fund.
Over the last five years, the crew at Redpoint has gotten to know Logan in many different contexts — Satish, Tomasz, Alex and both Scott and I have all worked with him directly on various deals and boards — and during that time we’ve been consistently impressed by and enjoyed working with him. There are loads of reasons for that, but for the sake of this brief blog post, I wanted to expand on two things that set Logan apart, and which are key to our team here at Redpoint.
First, and simply put, we believe Logan is going to be one of the next great enterprise investors. Logan is incredibly passionate about the ways software is changing our world — and, under the tutelage of Battery’s Neeraj Agrawal, with whom he authored a must-read annual report on the state of the industry, he’s shown that he’s a disciplined investor, with a great eye for and commitment to remarkable teams who are spearheading change. These include Braze, Dataiku, Amplitude, Pendo, and more, which have each set the pace of innovation in their industries.
Second, and just as importantly, we believe Logan is a special cultural addition to Redpoint. There is much talk of the importance of culture at startups, but at Redpoint we also think a lot about our culture as a firm. In fact, we believe our focus here — building for values like ‘thinking independently together’ and ‘move as one, have fun’— will be one of our enduring differentiators as a venture firm, and one way we can positively impact the ecosystem as a whole. We’ve had a front-row seat to Logan’s dynamic, thoughtful partnership as co-investors in businesses like Kustomer and Workato, where Logan has demonstrated his creative thinking and deep relationships with teams again and again. We believe that it makes a difference to work as a team here at Redpoint, and is part of a virtuous cycle: Strengthening our contributions, and our returns, which in turn attracts the best people and entrepreneurs. Plus, it’s just a lot of fun.
Logan is joining our Growth team at Redpoint. We raised our first growth fund in 2007 and the past 12 months have marked one of the most exciting periods in our history, with the incredible accomplishments of the teams at companies like Stripe, Snowflake, Hashicorp, Nubank, Twilio, Root Insurance, Bright Health, Justworks, and many more.
Welcome, Logan — it’s great to have you on board for the next phase of Redpoint’s journey.
