Welcoming Redpoint’s Newest Managing Director, Erica Brescia!

It is with great excitement and privilege that we introduce Redpoint’s newest partner, Erica Brescia. Erica is a former founder, exceptional operator, and experienced angel investor who we’ve admired for years. She joins us from GitHub, where she most recently served as COO. Erica will focus on early stage investing across infrastructure, DevOps, and security as we continue to invest in companies such as Snowflake, HashiCorp, Twilio, Cockroach, LaunchDarkly and many others here at Redpoint.
I was the most recent Managing Director to join our early stage team, nearly four years ago in 2018. I had some hypotheses about Redpoint at the time, chief among them how this partnership operates as a team and, culturally, how everyone embodies the idea of taking our work — but not ourselves — too seriously. I’m grateful to say that my diligence on this proved solid and this is honestly the most hard working, accomplished, down to earth and fun team that I have ever been part of. To say that Erica is a slam dunk of a cultural fit would be an understatement. That, coupled with her deep industry expertise, entrepreneurial experience and excitement for the future of technology and the teams that build it makes us feel supremely lucky to have her on our team.
Erica is a founder at her core. Prior to her time at GitHub, Erica co-founded Bitnami, a provider of packaged applications for any platform. After its founding in 2011, Bitnami went on to serve all of the major cloud platforms with over 1 million deployments per month, driving over 1B hours of cloud consumption in 2018 before it was acquired by VMware — yet another testament to Erica’s unique understanding of the space, its needs, and how to build a defining company. As an angel investor and through her work with X Factor Ventures, Erica has backed companies including Netlify, Byteboard, Whimsical, and Xata. She also serves on the board of the Linux Foundation.
Erica reunites with fellow GitHub alum and former CTO, Jason Warner, who joined our growth team in July. From all of us at Redpoint, welcome Erica!!
