HiveMP SDK 1.3.17 now available

This week we’re releasing the HiveMP SDK 1.3 series, which brings support for Unreal Engine 4.18 and Unity 2017.3.

New: Supported APIs

With this new SDK release, we’ve added the following new APIs to the client SDK:

In addition, new methods that have been added to our existing APIs since the previous SDK release are now available.

New: Unreal Engine 4.18 Support

The SDK now officially supports Unreal Engine 4.18. If you’re using 4.18 in your projects, you can now upgrade or install the HiveMP SDK.

While the previous release did work under 4.18, our build systems were not automatically building and testing against that engine version. With this release, we now have automated testing in place for Unreal Engine 4.18.

New: Unity 2017.3 Support

The SDK now officially supports Unity 2017.3. Coupled with this new support are bug fixes in the SDK which should improve the experience for Unity developers.

As of Unity 2017.3, we’ll no longer be supporting Linux 32-bit and macOS architecture-specific builds of Unity games. For macOS, please create universal binaries of your game instead. This only applies to games made in Unity 2017.3 and higher.

Changing: Unreal Engine 4.16 Support

With the imminent upcoming release of Unreal Engine 4.19, this will be the last major SDK release to officially support Unreal Engine 4.16. Going forward, we’ll be implementing a policy to official test against the last 3 non-preview releases of Unreal Engine.

Note that this does not mean the SDK will stop working in Unreal Engine 4.16, or that future SDK releases will necessarily be incompatible with that version, but we’ll no longer be building and testing against it as part of our release process. If you wish to generate the SDK for versions of Unreal Engine that are no longer supported, you can do so by generating the SDK manually from our GitHub repository.
