Reef NFT Contest: Be The First To Get Minted on Reef
While non-fungible tokens (NFTs) appear to be taking the world by storm, there are still many artists who are unaware of how the technology works, have read information about harmful environmental impacts due to Proof of Work mining, believe an NFT is too expensive and too difficult to create, or have other misgivings that have prevented them from journeying into blockchains. NFTs have many uses, including being displayed as digital art!
Reef’s extremely efficient blockchain has a very low impact on the environment thanks to its Nominated Proof of Stake consensus mechanism, and offers minting NFTs at a minimal cost of only $1 to $2 worth of REEF.
We’ve heard from many in the NFT community the challenges they’ve faced with other NFT marketplaces and platforms, and we want to change this. We began our education campaign with a workshop at ETHDenver, and worked with local artists on a special mural for ETHDenver along with a special treatment for Reef’s brand. Our team knows the struggles artists encounter, and we share their values of openness and inclusivity. Reef is going to be easy and affordable. With multiple permissionless NFT marketplaces launching on Reef in the near future, we want to find some talented artists to highlight at launch, putting a spotlight on your work and introducing our 250,000+ Reefians to you, your art, and these new marketplaces.
Throughout the submission period, we will highlight some of the submissions to our community ahead of the marketplace launches. If you have a social media account you want to point people to and grow your following, this is a great opportunity to do that!
Artists and the pieces chosen will also receive an exclusive experience, assisting you throughout your NFT minting process and working with the creators to ensure your NFT gets the spotlight at or shortly after launch. Other goodies and assistance will also be available.

Reefscan v2 was recently released and now supports NFTs, making it possible for all kinds of developers and wallets to support and display NFTs. We’re also working with a variety of wallet app developers to add Reef support in the very near future.
