Hey Everyone,

I hope you’re all doing well. I want to start this week’s announcement by saying that I am fully aware that many of you are beginning to lose your patience with Reesykle. Given the current market conditions and the wild-wild-west nature of the crypto industry, it’s understandable. Every week, we hear cases of projects being rug-pulled, abandoned, or pumped-and-dumped, creating a lot of insecurity in the crypto space. Since day one, I have been as transparent as possible with the Reesykle community, and I want to reassure you guys that this project is not going anywhere. Progress may be slow, we may not be as popular or as mainstream as we deserve, but that’s okay. In the three months that Reesykle has existed, hundreds of projects have been rug-pulled, abandoned, or pumped-and-dumped for purely selfish and greedy reasons.

In those same three months, we as a community experienced the most dreadful event that could happen to any crypto project. Some malicious hacker(s) attacked us and ran off with our liquidity. Many projects would not survive such an attack and would have abandoned the project. We refused to give up that easily and decided to weather the storm. The days after the attack was the worse. The majority of the community turned against us, blamed us, threatened us, shamed us, and accused us of being thieves. It would have been easier to give up and move on. Even though we did not have the resources or the manpower to build back, we found a way. I don’t care what the community had to say that day, but the truth is as clear as day, we showed integrity, we stayed, we came back, and we’re not going to give up after having gone through the worse. It just wouldn’t make sense.

People have invested in Reesykle for many reasons, and whatever your reasons are, we do not discriminate. However, I have to be very blunt with the community. Reesykle will not climb to the heights we want it to climb if everyone is solely dependent on the team to do everything. Reesykle is a community project, and my vision is to nurture a community that is proud to represent its investment. Don’t just invest in Reesykle; help your investment grow into the ecosystem that it is destined to become by loudly and proudly shouting its name whenever a crypto-related conversation comes up. Post about Reesykle, talk about it, sing about it, whatever. I know that I have said this before, but I will reiterate: There is power in numbers.

To continue my streak of transparency, many of the folks involved with Reesykle at the beginning are no longer with us for several reasons. Some left right after the hack. Some left because they lost patience, some left because they stopped believing, some left because they didn’t get rich in 24 minutes, and some left for personal reasons. Regardless, I, Cedric Diop, am still here, still coding, still pushing, and as long as I keep typing and making progress on our ecosystem’s development, I will continue to fuel the fire that keeps this project alive. No one said it would be easy, but as long as some community members remain loyal, that’s all I need.

To conclude, we have been through a lot. Many of you know this. All I ask is that everyone comes together for the greater common good of the project and help build a community that will stand the test of time. Reesykle is only as strong as its community, and any signs of weakness or division directly reflect on the Reesykle brand. We are all responsible.

Recap

Last week, I started picking things back up slowly, especially in marketing. Many of the marketing strategies that we have applied thus far have not yielded any results. We must keep trying until we figure out what works. I also worked on the core smart contracts that will define Reelty. Here’s a quick recap.

Press Release

Yes, we finally got around to releasing our first (but not last) press release. We got some pretty good coverage, but we didn’t see much results. You can check it out here.

YouTube Review

We got in touch with a YouTuber who does a lot of crypto reviews. We were hoping to see some good engagement from his review. His fanbase was misleading. Most of his views and comments were bots. It was still a pretty good video, though. You can check it out here:

AMA

We conducted an AMA with a crypto community we have been following for a while. They seemed to have an active and engaging community, but, as we have learned, sometimes things are not always what they seem, especially in crypto. The voice AMA had over 200 listeners and a lot of people commenting on Twitter, but we saw no spike in activity or engagement. Here’s a recording of the AMA for those of you who want to catch up:

Website Update

I started migrating our website to GatsbyJS. It is an important update because it’ll make it easier for us to scale our website, add new features, and so on. Updates will be going live this week.

Reelty

We have been working on Reelty’s core architecture and initial implementation. We still have a lot of testing left to do because this will be the bread and butter of our project. So we have to make sure that we are not leaving any room for significant bugs.

Quick Recap

To conclude last week’s recap. Here’s what we did:

  • Reelty Core Progress ✅

This Week

This week I’ll be working on wrapping Reelty’s front-end and completing our website’s migration to GatsbyJS. We have also been in contact with Vindax, a Vietnamese exchange. Talks are going well, and hopefully, we can see some results by the end of the month. Vindax will be the first exchange that we get listed on, and we are hoping that this will prove to the community and new investors that we are a growing and serious project. I also hope that it puts your mind at ease. I will keep you guys posted on the progress.

As always, I appreciate every single one of you and your continued support. Good things take time, but good things are coming.

Cheers,

Cedric Diop
