Maybe it’s spring, maybe it’s end of the lockdown here in London but it feels like life is back. Didn’t know how much I missed laughter of strangers, clink of tableware at street cafés and buzz of random chitchat.

Alright, time for changes. One year anniversary for re:compass is closing in. It has been an interesting time to observe impact of coronavirus on the whole startup ecosystem through event lenses. Event bundling and unbundling was happening at the same time, business models are changing rapidly and the number of tracked events is growing exponentially.

The number of events is quite a peculiar challenge. It is very easy to get lost in continuous updates and database additions, but more does not necessary mean better, right? So I decided to sequentially refocus database towards where my personal passion lays, between science, tech and entrepreneurship. The newsletter will be gradually geared towards deeptech in Europe while continuing inclusion of outstanding startup events. Overall, there will be more focus on frontier science and tech, and less general entrepreneurial-investment-networking topics.

After all, science is future, and the future is exciting.
