References.Design is a place for creatives to discover, explore and manage design inspirations.

Explore contents from all-over the popular communities.

The internet is incredible. There are so many sources for people to find great inspirations. As a designer, you probably are already browsing platforms like Dribbble, Behance and Pinterest everyday. There are also new sources and contents coming out everyday full of new inspirations.

However, on the other hand, having so many different sources could also be overwhelming. Time is precious, you don’t want to miss the great new contents, but you also don’t want to waste your precious time jumping between tons of webpages.

Guess what? We get up early and put all the nice contents in one place for you. Just come and take a quick glance, go to those ones that are really valuable for your time. Save the contents you like to your local library, or bookmark the whole page for future reference.

Import and manage your local inspirations

The file systems on our desktops are designed for storing and managing “files”. Though images are technically just one type of “files”, managing images with the default file system could be frustrating: the small thumbnails; the delay in image loading; the flying windows all around the screen when you try to find the right image… All you need is a simple interface where all images are displayed sharp and clear, with minimized buttons or controls, and without any unexpected flying windows.

That’s what References.Design is built for.

Import images into References.Design, drag and drop to put them into different collections for long-term organizing and archiving. Or, use color labels to quickly assemble them into moodboards for a particular project.

Randomly Organized

It is always nice to keep things organized — give files meaningful names , store them into properly folders so that you can find them easily in the future. However, despite the fact that there are always cases that some contents are not properly organized, sometimes you may just want to browse randomly to get wild ideas — but not too random to include some totally non-related contents.

References.Design will scan your contents’ visual styles upon importing, and will try to learn the differences between them. When you have enough contents, it will automatically calculate how similar they are to each other, and cluster them into different groups.

While it is tricky to get the clustering work perfectly, References.Design will keep learning and evolving as you add more contents into it. Last but not least, everything happens locally, we never upload any of your contents onto our servers or elsewhere.

What else?

We tried our best to make the interface of References.Design simple and intuitive. You don’t need to read any manuals to understand how to use it.

The true magic should happen in the background. References.Design is gradually learning the visual styles and color combinations of the imported contents. We believe that there are a lot more cool stuff we can bring out in the near future. Follow us on Medium or on Twitter to get latest news and announcements from References.Design.

Your feedback are important to us, try it today and let us know what you think.
