Scrolling through social media right now means being bombarded with images of your friends’ beautifully baked bread loaves, made-from-scratch sweet treats, and pantry meals that somehow look truly gourmet. Because many of us suddenly have plenty of time on our hands, cooking has been embraced by many as a gratifying and useful hobby. But what about those that don’t know how to cook?

You can avoid feeling this very specific brand of mid-quarantine FOMO by learning how to cook and bake right now with help from videos, virtual classes, and certain social media accounts. With these resources, you’ll not only have a way to feed yourself that doesn’t require ordering take-out, but you’ll also have your own masterpiece meals to share on Instagram.

Master Classes

Learn cooking skills from celebrated chefs like Alice Waters, Gordan Ramsay, Thomas Keller, and Massimo Bottura. With Masterclass, you can choose specific cuisines to concentrate on including modern Italian, Mexican, and Texas-style BBQ. You can even move from the kitchen to the bar with mixology and wine appreciation classes all online. Right now, you can get two annual passes — one to use and one to share — with access to all the site’s classes for £170

Airbnb Experiences

Airbnb has put a hold on in-person experiences, but recently, it debuted a new feature made for life in quarantine. Airbnb Virtual Experiences is giving hosts a chance to make some money by introducing online versions of the classes you previously might have only enjoyed while on vacation. Included in the new online experiences are classes on cooking Mexican salsas , making colourful healthy pasta, cooking with a Moroccan family making Swedish pastries with a pro baker, and more.

Bon Appétit Test Kitchen Videos

Chances are you were already watching Bon Appétit’s Test Kitchen videos before the quarantine, but now could be the perfect time to actually try out some of the recipes and cooking tips the Test Kitchen gang has shared over the years. Check out one of their new “Cooking At Home” videos for tips on cooking with pantry staples in your home kitchen or go back in the archives for meals made in the actual Test Kitchen. And for those who have never tuned in, get ready to be totally obsessed.
