Refine Medium is proud to announce the launch of the Beta version of the Refine Medium platform,

With the launch our PreSale we announce our MVP available to all the users. During our Private Sale we had made our MVP accessible to all our Private Sale investors and private investors. Strictly following our Roadmap we are making our MVP available to our community before starting our PreSale from 25th June 2019.

Introduction

A Minimum Viable Product or MVP is an initial product with minimal features to interact with the end-users and gather insights to make the final product more reliable and cater to the requirements and wishes of the Users. The minimum viable product is the first complete system of REFINE MEDIUM project. It enables the partners, collaborators and set of users to know about the product features, functionalities and behavior of the product. The team can gather feedback to get an idea about market requirement and user opinion on the initial product. Knowledge gathered from the MVP will be used to improve the quality of the decisions taken for the final product. This early user feedback also helps the developers to shape the product based on what the users want and desire as functionalities in the final product. The main aspect of this MVP is to get useful feedback from the minimal product which will help reduce the development time of the final product and will ensure it is customized to the wants of the Users.

Features

Our Goal is to build a complete decentralized media platform. As we are at an early stage, our team has deployed a MVP to earn knowledge about consumer views and market demands.

The MVP will include the 3 major functionalities-

User Accounts.
Video Upload and Streaming onto an IPFS storage.
Transactions of Refine BETA Tokens on the blockchain to the User’s wallet.

User Accounts

The MVP will cater to three types of Accounts, namely the Moderators, Investors and the User Accounts.

A certain User can click on the Signup button to initiate the Signup process. This process will allow the user to set email and password information for the account.The user will have to enter the ERC-20 wallet address to receive the Refine Medium BETA tokens.The account will also be linked to the User’s Ethereum wallet and can view their wallet information whilst signed into the MVP system and can observe changes to their balance when transactions are triggered.

The User can go on to view videos that are up on the platform and have the option to Like/Dislike them. The videos would be sorted in chronological order. The User can also choose to upload videos onto the platform, allowing other users of the system to interact with his/her content.

In future versions we plan to implement custom Home pages for each user and recommendations based on History as well as features to resume previously unfinished videos.

Video Upload and Streaming

The User can choose to Upload his/her own content or interact with the content Uploaded by other users. Any video on the MVP is uploaded onto an IPFS storage. This makes the video storage decentralized. Multiple IPFS nodes will host the video as opposed to the centralized system where the whole video is stored on a central server.

Streaming will take place with the same IPFS mechanism. Any user who streams a video will be receiving the video from different IPFS nodes in chunks and will be able to view the video seamlessly on their devices giving the User the same experience as that of centralized streaming.

Decentralized Video Storage and Streaming

Our current MVP would only be able to support a certain number of videos at a time due to the limited number of IPFS nodes we have access to.

In future versions we plan to increase the storage space by increasing the number of IPFS nodes or making tie ups with organizations that promote cooperative storage clouds.

Transactions of Tokens

The User gets rewarded for interacting with videos on the system. These rewards are in the form of Refine BETA Tokens. The User will receive tokens directly into their wallets. The User will get the transaction hash immediately and the token balance can be instantly checked in any erc20 wallet app like MEW or meta-mask.

MVP requirements

The Refine medium MVP fulfills all the basic requirements set specified in the roadmap. Specifically, Our MVP offers account creation, video upload, video status and withdrawing earned token. We further develop our MVP by considering the inputs from user feedback, market interest and partner opinions. We will give utmost importance to knowledge earned from MVP.

Future Development

We are planning to expand the functionalities of our MVP and fulfill some critical requirements.We are exploring new opportunities towards the use of Gaia to store and stream videos in a decentralized manner.This will help us to build a decentralized Android Application too, along with the Decentralized Web Application. The technical team has already begun the research and testing.
