AWS Summit Singapore 2019
ตอนนี้งานที่ทำอยู่ ต้องใช้ AWS อย่างจริงจัง ทางบริษัท Refintiv เลยส่งให้ไปหาความรู้เพิ่มเติม ในงาน AWS Summit 2019 ที่ Singapore (ไปกันทั้งหมด 4 คน) และ เพื่อไปดูว่าโลกของ cloud นั้นไปถึงไหนกันแล้ว เลยอยากจะเล่าถึงประสบการณ์ที่ได้ไปงานที่มีผู้เข้าร่วมมากกว่า 10,000 คน ให้ฟัง
Currently, I have used a lot of AWS services in my works. So my company — Refintiv — gave an opportunity for us (4 people including me) to join AWS Summit Singapore 2019 for updating current trends in the cloud industry. I would like to share my experience at this event that there were more than 10,000 participants.
อันดับแรกผมขอเล่าถึงแนวคิดที่สำคัญๆ เกี่ยวกับ Cloud Technologyที่ผมได้จากงานนี้
1. เราต้องคอยปรับปรุง cloud architecture อยู่เรื่อยๆ เพราะ data มีปริมาณมหาศาล และมี service ใหม่ๆที่ดีกว่า ถูกกว่า ทำให้ ระบบทำงานได้เร็วขึ้น ประหยัดมากขึ้น ดูแลระบบและข้อมูลได้ง่ายขึ้น
2. มนุษย์พูดได้เร็วกว่าพิมพ์ ดังนั้นการสร้าง Chatbot ที่สามารถสื่อสารด้วยเสียงได้ด้วย จึงตอบโจทย์ได้ดีกว่าการพิมพ์เพียงอย่างเดียว เราสามารถใช้ AWS Transcribe หรือ AWS Lex เพื่อสร้าง Chatbot ที่สามารถสั่งงานได้ทั้งทางเสียงและการพิมพ์
3. Serverless ทำให้เราโฟกัสแต่งานที่ทำ โดยไม่ต้องสนใจเรื่อง architecture ทำให้ใช้เวลาในการพัฒนาน้อยลง และที่สำคัญ จ่ายเท่าที่ใช้
I would like to start with the key ideas about Cloud Technology I got from this event:
1. We have to update our cloud architecture continuously because data grow bigger every day. In addition, there will be new and cheaper services coming out. Our architecture will run more smoothly, cheaply, easily to maintain.
2. It is more natural and convenient for a human to speak rather than type. For this reason, having a bot with speech capability might be better than a textual-based chatbot to serve humans in their daily routines. We can leverage AWS Transcribe or AWS Lex to build a bot that can be interacted using speech or text.
3. With serverless technology, we can focus on our functionalities without management on the system architecture. So, we use less developing time. Importantly, it’s cost is pay per usage.
นอกจากนี้ผมก็ยังอยากแชร์ถึงประสบการณ์การเดินทางในครั้งนี้ รวมถึงสิ่งที่น่าสนใจอีกมากมาย มาเริ่มกันเลยดีกว่าครับ
เริ่มจากนั่งเครื่องบินสายการบินไทย จากสุวรรณภูมิ ไปลง สนามบินซางงี (Changi) ที่สิงค์โปร์ สนามบินซางงีใหญ่มาก มีถึง 4 Terminal เราเลยต้องนั่ง SkyTrain ของสนามบิน (แน่นอนว่าฟรี) เพื่อไปต่อสถานี MRT แล้วนั่งเข้าเมืองไป โรงแรม
There are also many interesting things in this event. Let’s get started.
It started from flying from Suvarnabhumi Airport (BKK) to Changi Aiport (SIN) via Thai Airways. There are 4 terminals in Changi Airport. In order to go to hotel which is in the inner city via MRT, we took SkyTrain which is provided by airport service and free of charge.
วันถัดมา รีบตื่นไปเข้างานแต่เช้า เลยลองนั่ง Grab ไป Expo (ในราคา 17$SGD) แล้วเดินต่อไปเข้างาน (ไกลมากกกกก)
Next day, we woke up early and went by Grab to Expo (cost 17$SGD). But we still needed to walk to the hall. It was a very long walking …..
ไปถึงก่อน เก้าโมง ถึงกระนั้นคนก็ยังเยอะมาก แต่แถวยังไหลลื่นได้ดี เพราะวิธีการลงทะเบียนง่ายมาก แค่แสดง QR Code แล้วก็ไปรับ ป้ายชื่อ (เป็น RFID Card ที่เก็บชื่อ และ email ของเราในนั้น) และวิทยุ เพื่อเอาไปฟังในงาน
We arrived before 9:00. There were a lot of people queued for registration. But the queues ran smoothly because they needed only QR Code. After scanned, we went to the station to receive our name tag which was an RFID card that our name and email were saved and a FM radio receiver for listening at the event.
บูธของ AWS ภายในงาน มี AI/ML showcase ที่น่าสนใจ เช่น การตรวจจับภาพในทะเลว่าเป็นสัตว์น้ำหรือไม่ เราเลยรู้ว่ามีขยะมากน้อยแค่ไหน โดนใจมากๆ ทำให้อยากจะเขียนอะไรสักอย่าง เพื่อให้โลกเราน่าอยู่ขึ้นมาเลยทีเดียว
At the AWS booth, there were interesting AI/ML showcases, such as an image recognition for detecting a live being in the sea to know how cleanliness is the sea. It has inspired me to do something for improving our world with AI/ML technology.
บูธของ Sponsor อื่นๆ ก็น่าสนใจไม่แพ้กัน ได้เห็นการบริหารจัดการ cloud ว่าทำกันยังไง และยังทำให้รู้ว่า การแข่งขันในโลกของ cloud นั้น มีผู้เล่น อยู่มากเลยทีเดียว เพียงแต่ว่า เรารู้จักแค่ไม่กี่เจ้า
On the other hands, there were a lot of sponsors’ booths which were interesting as well. They showed their software’ features and how they mange their services. It made me know that there are a lot of competitors in the Cloud industry. However, I knew a few of them.
สิ่งที่น่าสนใจในพิธีเปิดคือ มีการแปลสด ให้ฟังจากวิทยุ ที่ได้มา มีให้เลือกให้ฟังหลายภาษา(ซึ่งแน่นอนว่ามีภาษาไทยในนั้น)
There were some live translations in opening keynote by using FM radio receiver. You could listen to the Thai language.
ในงานมี สัมนา หลายเรื่อง ให้เลือกฟังตามความสนใจ ซึ่งต้องใช้วิทยุในการรับฟัง โดยเลือกคลื่นให้ตรงกับเรื่องที่อยากจะฟัง
There were a lot of seminars at the event. You could choose joining any sessions based on your interest. In order to listen, you had to select a radio channel for each seminar.
ลืมบอกไป ว่า ในตอนเข้าไปในบูธ หรือเข้าและออกจากสัมนา ต้องโดน scan บัตรก่อน ซึ่งแน่นอนว่าถูกเก็บเอาไปประเมินว่างานไหนคนเข้าเยอะ และดูว่าตัวเราเองสนใจด้านไหน จะได้ส่ง ข้อความ(โฆษณา)มาให้โดนใจ (ข้อมูลคือทุกอย่าง)
One more thing, When you entered to any booth, went to seminar, or exited, your card tag had to be scanned. Trust me, this data were kept for evaluating for each seminar and your inside data. (Data is the new oil.)
คนที่กลับก่อน ถือว่าพลาดอย่างมาก ในพิธีปิด (ถึงแม้จะไม่มีแปลก็ตาม) มีการนำตัวอย่างของการใช้ ML ในด้านต่างๆ (FinTech, HealthTech, Smart Cities, AgriTech) ที่มีการใช้จริง มาเปิดให้ดู (จุดประกายกันอีกรอบก่อนเลิก)
Some people missed the ending keynote which was very excited (although without the live translations). They showed a lot of existing ML used cases in several industries such as FinTech, HealthTech, Smart Cities, and AgriTech (inspired me again)
ถือว่าได้อะไรไม่น้อย จากงาน event ขนาดใหญ่แบบนี้ ไม่ว่าจะเป็น Data Lake, ML, Serverless และอื่นๆ ที่สามารถนำมาประยุกต์ใช้กับงานที่บริษัท
From this event, I have gained knowledge about Data Lake, ML, Serverless technology that I can use them in my company.
