Rain

I often wonder
What connection I share with the rain
Why its arrival makes my soul
Dance with unbridled childlike delight
Why it brings unprecedented joy
Washing away all my inhibitions

I often wonder
Whether it is the rain that
Brings me to the beautiful memories
And the luring nostalgia
Or the memories and the longings
Conspire to make it rain for me

I often wonder
That a piece of me must be the sky
The infinite, up high
And another, the earth
The dirt, down below
The rain
A string that connects
Unites and binds us together

I often wonder
What connection I share with the rain
And why… I often wonder
