Here are some excellent reasons to delegate:

1. Multiplies your productivity.
2. Sets your time free to do other meaningful tasks.
3. Opens communication with others as you work together.
4. Fosters a sense of teamwork.

How to Delegate Responsibility

The following principles can be applied as we learn how to delegate:

1. First, determine what tasks you want to delegate.
Choose just one task you can think of for a start.

2. Second, determine to whom the task will be delegated.
This will require knowing your designated worker and his or her abilities.
To whom will you delegate that task?

3. Third, determine how you want the task done.
Even though a task is delegated, it is still your responsibility to see that it is accomplished how you want it to be done.

4. Fourth, determine when you want the task completed.
An open ended request is not delegation. Be specific! Give a deadline. Make sure you factored in the time needed to PLAN how to delegate and FOLLOW-UP to see it was done as you wanted and when you wanted?

Take a moment and think: What can YOU delegate today? Drop me a note, let me know what you are thinking.
