A Day of DISORIENTATION
What Happened That Day?
It had been a busy season in my retirement life. My days were filled with writing some new pieces, editing a small book, processing photos I’d taken and accomplishing the normal activities of daily retirement life. I was tired!
That particular day, I put aside all ‘tasks’ and enjoyed a photo outing with my son on a Country Ramble, as I call them — finding one dirt road after another to explore in the countryside.
After a couple of hours, it was time to head home, share some restaurant take-out chicken fried rice and enjoy watching an adventure with YouTuber Foresty Forest as he traveled from Alberta, Canada to Arizona. What It was an adventure with armchair traveling — the best.
After my son left for the day, I decided a time of rest with my Kindle sounded perfect. If I fell asleep at 4 p.m., I knew I’d only sleep an hour and be up by 5 p.m., ready for the evening.
When I woke up, my alarm clock said 6:30.
It was MORNING!
Yet why were my shoes still on? Why did I have my clothes on? Why were the blinds still open? Why was it pitch dark outside my window?
It took me a long time to wake up fully, piecing together what had happened.
I’d fallen into bed for reading and a nap at 4:00 pm.
When I woke up at 6:30, I thought it was 6:30 A.M. but it was really 6:30 P.M.!
Talk about being disoriented! My brain and head were all twisted around and on backwards. I’d NEVER had a 2 1/2 hour nap before…until that Day of Total Disorientation.
Thank you for reading!
