How are YOUR Lab Results Lately?

Normal?

Every once in a while, we humans need to visit a medical lab to have a blood test.

It had been a while since I’d had that special lab visit so off I went, wondering what my blood would say about what was going on in my body.

The waiting room was quiet.

When it was my turn, the lab technician drew two vials of blood, labeled it and sent it off at the end of the day to the bigger lab downtown.

Usually, by late evening, the results would be available to view online.

If a full metabolic blood test was done, the list is long of all of the values for each measurement.

Of course, my eye always goes first to the ABNORMAL.

Doesn’t yours? I want the BAD NEWS! Am I falling apart from the inside out and not really being aware of it? Is something serious going on that I don’t even know about? What specialist will I need to see? What treatments will be needed? Will it be painful? Is it life threatening?

After I see the bad news first, then I calm down a bit and check all the other values — all of the items which are of NORMAL value. Those make me smile in relief.

Recently I’ve trained myself to look at ALL of the levels and marvel how MUCH is NORMAL. How does God keep this free-standing body so balanced?

What a miracle, I declare to myself!!!

Sure, there are always one or two values which are elevated or below normal…but I know there are ways to balance them out with the help of nutrition, more exercise and/or medication.

Thus, the next time you get your lab results, instead of groaning and moaning, look to see how many things are RIGHT in your body and praise your Creator for keeping you day after day!

How amazing!!! We truly are fearfully and wonderfully made! We can THANK GOD for ALL of it!

I will praise Thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvelous are Thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well. Psalm 139:14 KJV
