The Cove Then and Now

Last week I shared the view from my windows and patio. This view is of The Cove which leads into that lake.

Please compare the exact same view today with the view from 1877.

Over a 100 years ago, The Cove looked quite different as the people gazed upon the giant Lotus Lilies that grew here.

People would come from near and far to look at the GIANT leaves and blooms. Word has it that those giants disappeared as people began collecting the flowers and seed pods.

Now there are lily pads galore but of a smaller variety.
