Is It Grumbling or Thankfulness on Display?

Do you find yourself becoming a grumbler?

That ugly grumbling can begin as soon as one wakes in the morning:

Ugh, I need to get out of this warm bed, the birds are singing too loudly.

Grumble — it’s cold in here and I need to get a shower.

Grrr, I’m going to be late for work AGAIN!

Ugh, such a sparse breakfast as care must be taken with my health.

Grumble — it is difficult to move around easily with these joints which don’t bend as easily as they once did.

Grrr…on and on it goes over big and small things throughout the day until you fall into bed at night.

It becomes a HABIT, that ugly grumbling attitude!

Let’s turn that around because we CAN and it gives God pleasure to hear His children praise Him, even if some things are more difficult.

YES, I will get out of bed because I have something worthwhile to do.

Thank You, God, that I have a roof over my head which some do not have.

Praise be to God for a shower with water which is warm and safe to use.

Thank you, Lord, for healthy food readily available in my kitchen.

YES, thank you Lord, for warm clothing to wear in cold weather.

Thank you, Lord, for showing me how to get my projects at work completed.

On and on goes a heart of thanksgiving throughout the day.

This attitude toward life and God Himself becomes a HABIT.

Wouldn’t it be better to have a habit of doing what pleases God?
Let’s try it!

And cultivate thankfulness. Colossians 3:15

Like a plant which we want to grow, cultivating thankfulness will thrive if we practice it!

Thus we give thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ’. Ephesians 5:20

Wow, ALWAYS and for ALL THINGS we are to give thanks!
