Diabetes is one of the most misunderstood diseases because of the hype caused by people. Even though the internet has reached every corner of the world people are still living in illusions about Diabetes. It is not as complex as people think it is.

Diabetes is a condition in which blood glucose levels in a person rise, and this may happen due to various reasons.

Currently, there are two major types of Diabetes — Type1 and Type2.

There is one common cure to this condition — taking insulin hormone from external sources. In diabetes Type1, also called Juvenile diabetes, the patient’s body entirely stops producing insulin hormone, whereas, in Type2 the production of insulin slows down.

Most people fail to understand is that its not only the sweet things which increase blood glucose — rather everything which gives us energy and contains glucose in any form.

To derive energy from this glucose, we require insulin hormone which is secreted by Beta cells present in Pancreas. Production of insulin is regulated by the body’s feedback mechanism.

For the people who are suffering from Diabetes, I know how hard it is for you to overcome the craving of eating what you wish to, but you need to continue the effort.

We look up to the scientists who are working day and night to find a way to avoid injections and pricks. For your ease, there are devices available in the market to manage your blood glucose, like CGM for continuously monitoring of blood glucose levels and Insulin Pumps so that you don’t have to puncture yourself repetitively.

The hope is alive!
