Creating Powerful Relationships At Work

This week, Scott Dunlap who is the managing director for Tenth Dimension Design Labs, posted a column on CMO.com about his thoughts on mobile apps. Dunlap focused primarily on his experience with Refresh and its transformative power on his leadership style.

Over a three-month period, he field-tested Refresh. During that time, he used it not only with people he was meeting with and customers but also more profoundly with his staff to create authentic relationships among the team. This latter use, in turn, changed his behavior with those around him in countless ways.

This story serves as a good reminder about how we can start to learn and engage with those around us, when we know more information about our mutual interests. The power of the information enables us to find ways to begin relating differently.

Dunlap says it best, “In every case, I was connecting with people about their passions and full lives instead of talking about the weather or the latest sports news. It felt like a subtle change, but in actuality we were all developing deeper authentic relationships each time we shared.”
