Facebook is testing a separate news feed in six countries

But that doesn’t mean it won’t be available to everyone in future

Facebook started rolling out explore feed in six selected countries this week

Recently I wrote a post about how Facebook is introducing a separate newsfeed for pages, that is basically going to make organic reach close to zero. The article made some fuzz on social media.

When I wrote the article I thought it was new feature that Facebook was rolling out to all the users because everyone I know had the explore feed enabled in them.

But I never realized at the time of writing that most people out there are not experiencing the explore feed option that was available for me.

If you didn’t know the explore feed has moved all the updates from pages you have liked to the explore feed and your old newsfeed will only show updates from your friends.

And you will have to pay to Facebook to get your brand’s content on the Facebook newsfeed.

This made readers ask about clarification, sources, or how I got the explore feed option on my Facebook app.

Amongst all the confusion Facebook has put out a blog post which says that they are currently experimenting with the explore feed in 6 different counties and they have no plans on expanding these test to other regions.

There have been a number of reports about a test we’re running in Sri Lanka, Bolivia, Slovakia, Serbia, Guatemala, and Cambodia. Some have interpreted this test as a future product we plan to deliver globally. We currently have no plans to roll this test out further.

Facebook is expecting to make newsfeed changes by looking at these beta testing results. So although they are not expanding these tests doesn’t mean they will not make this a global feature.

As one commenter from serbia pointed out the organic reach on Facebook is now non existent.

Same problem happen here in Serbia, from the time that Explore Feed was published Organic Reach almost not exist, I was trying to contact Facebook Support , but no answer from them. — Toma Rajkovic

Let’s wait and see what Facebook is about to do in newsfeed changes. Read my original post about Facebook explore feed and how it is going to effect your business here,
