An easy meditation to calm you instantly.

  1. Make yourself comfortable. Adjust your posture so you feel relaxed. If you want, you may close your eyes, focus downwards, or on an object.
  2. Set a timer for one minute or two.
  3. Pay attention to your body. What sensations are present? Turn your awareness to this without judgment. Just notice how your body feels right now.
  4. Sense your breath as you inhale and exhale.
  5. If your mind wanders, be aware of it, and gently bring your attention back to your breath and body, or watch those passing thoughts.
  6. Be kind to your mind as it wanders. No judgment. Do not get involved with what your thoughts are. Just come back to the present moment.
  7. Finish your practice. When you feel ready, open your eyes or raise your gaze. Take a moment to notice your environment. How does your body feel right now? What emotions and thoughts are present right now? Breathe gently and steadily.
