We often assume we must live up to the expectations of others — starting from our parents, to our teachers, our peers, and our family. We carry the weight of the world on our shoulders as a result and groan under the burden. Once we fall into this trap, we are trapped for life. And to add to the misery, we manage to disappoint many of them.
Let’s pause for a moment to reflect: why should we please everyone in the first place? Why not focus on ourselves first? Why not be loyal to our own dreams and aspirations? Why not choose whom we want to pay attention to?
Think about it.
