My Formula Based on My Experiences of Self-Care
To spread love, generosity, and kindness
I have always believed in being humble when I meet people, and I speak to them with respect.
My mom taught me humility. When I was young and one of our maids fell sick my mom would go to the cluster of poor people’s homes and give her food and medicines and ask about her health. I would go along with her.
She would forgive people who were rude to her and always said that when the person realized his or her mistake, she would be fine. She never expected people to apologize.
I learned from her to love people, be humble, accept them with love, and be generous.
We would always say a prayer at mealtimes and be grateful to God for all the gifts he had given us. She would ask us to donate freely and explain to us that when we began to earn 5- 10% of our earnings should be donated.
These were good values, but the real test came when I grew up and had to face the world. I told my mother one day that it was difficult to cope with the enormous work that we had now.
