The past is the past, and my past doesn’t predict my future.

Dwelling on the past never helps anyone move forward. As you reflect on your story, it’s important to know that the threads of your past need not dictate your future goals and patterns.

The Power of the Past

If you carry a lot of weight from your past—old failures and mistakes—remember they do not define who you are today. If you made a mistake in the past, even yesterday, it is in your past.

It’s easy to believe that if something went wrong in the past, things will go wrong again. Or do they?

Repeat after me: What if everything goes well?

The Common Beliefs

  • History repeats itself. It could, but if you do the hard work to change and improve yourself, chances are history will not repeat itself. Again, repeat after me: What if everything goes well?
