A Time for Listening, Reflecting, and Acting

To the Regen Network Community,

As we bear witness to the nationwide protests and national dialogue around race police brutality, militarization and equality in the United States, we recognize this moment as an opportunity to listen, reflect, evaluate and act on our responsibilities as a company.

At Regen Network, we sit at the intersection of technology, agriculture and climate change. This is a place that is activated by complex relationships to race, class, and privilege. Regen Network’s platform is designed to empower earth tenders around the globe to regenerate our relationship to the planet, and with each other. However, looking inward, we observe that our team is composed of a relatively white, privileged group of employees.

Inside of Regen Network, we are hosting thoughtful, intentional team discussions. We are in the process of finding alignment in how our company can meet this moment, both internally and externally. We are committed to doing our inner work as a company — expanding and reflecting on what diversity & anti-racism looks like internally, implementing equitable hiring practices and increasing the diversity of our team, and looking into expanding our existing partnerships with Indigenous communities to include more BIPOC land stewards. We are evaluating our product design and business model to ensure they recognize and address the historical and contemporary hurdles faced by people of color, Indigenous land stewards, and farmers around the world.

As we start our company journey inwards during the coming weeks, we will continue to share company announcements, milestones, and thought pieces on our channels. We are dedicated to sharing in a way that is earnest, authentic, and clear-headed, both on racial and justice fronts, as well as company progress.

While the circumstances that created this moment in history generate both anger and sadness, we are grateful for the emerging global movement. It has inspired us to further examine how our company and our team can incubate equality and allyship in efforts to establish a just and equitable world.
