Putting together incentivized test nets is complex, fun and ultimately essential for building a community around a public and open source blockchain protocol project. In order to continue serving our community we try to be responsive and transparent with every aspect of this process. This blog is a quick overview of the points to tokens conversion process, with a link to a leaderboard maintained by our partners and friends at Vitwit, who are part of the lead validator group that brings the testnets to life.

Regen Network has run two incentivized testnets, and one community testnet with a few christimas goodies.

Our testnets are fully community run, with a committee of lead validators making decisions about timing, points, and test-net assignments etc.

Up until recently we had a very simply system for the translation of points to XRN tokens, which was that we would tally up the TOTAL points over all test nets and assign tokens proportional to point earnings to all Validators who have gone through our KYC/AML system and are not from jurisdictions we have to limit due to US legal restrictions.

Adriana from Kalpa Tech, a lead community member of Regen Network validators, recently pointed out that this did not really give visibility to validators who are choosing between different test net and main net opportunities as a business decision who may need more detailed information about past and future opportunities and token allocation. We took this feedback to heart and decided to fix a token allocation for each previous test net, and the upcoming COSMWASM Kontraŭa Testnet .

You can see the points distribution and corresponding token allocation (to be claimed through KYC) on the Vitwit maintained leaderboard

For the Regen 1001 Testnet we allocated 100,000 $REGEN tokens, representing 10% of the total incentivized test net allocation.

For the Regen algradigon-1 test net, we allocated 150,000 $REGEN tokens, representing 15% of the total incentivized test net allocation.

For Regen Kontraŭa Testnet we allocated 250,000 $REGEN tokens representing 25% of the total incentivized test net allocation.

So, for the remaining test net (or two) after Kontraua is over (in mid april) we will still have 500,000 XRN to distribute to incentivized test net participants for the Aplikiĝo Testnet slated to start Feb 8th 2021!
