The Regenerative Real Estate Podcast | Episode 25

From an early age, Amira Ayoub was inspired by her grandmother to make a positive impact in this world. She initially became interested in architecture during her university studies, but became absolutely fascinated when she discovered the concept of sustainability.

Amira went on to become an architect and has worked in her home city of Cairo, Egypt to promote initially sustainable design, but more recently regenerative design in the built environment. Amira has designed the first FitWel and Living Building Challenge projects in the North Africa and Middle East region.

Amira is passionate about changing the world and creating a resilient future for her kids and future generations. Through her advocacy work she raises awareness about global climate issues by connecting people to nature, delivering education, and designing pilot projects to showcase the world what is possible.

Amira is USGBC LEED & WELL Faculty™, a Living Future and Fitwel Ambassador, and is is the founder of the Living Future Cairo Collaborative and was also awarded as a Living Future Hero for 2019. In 2019 she was nominated by the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) with other 100 visionary thinkers and interdisciplinary thought leaders from around the world to join the Resilience Frontier Initiative and co-create visions of desirable climate-resilience futures beyond 2030.
