2019: The year of the wallet
A view on white label wallet solutions
Now that the hype is over, we can finally start solving problems and operationalizing ideas. For many, the past 3 years hailed a reinvented future of mobile money, cross border payments and permissionless networks to facilitate all this. Obstacles to solving the world’s problems include unclear regulation, technological barriers to entry, education e.g. managing private keys for late adopters and extreme currency volatility, to name a few. We haven’t solved all these problems, but we have tackled a few.
A custodial wallet solution for tokens and cryptocurrencies are a great way of handling user authentication in a secure and familiar way, without requiring users to manage their private keys. While a centralized solution such as this is less appealing to early adopters or those who prefer complete control, it’s fast becoming a popular alternative for mass adoption of users who don’t mind multi-factor authenticated login to access a great product. Basic wallet functionality should include the ability to receive, store and send fiat or cryptocurrencies to email, SMS or crypto addresses. Some neat additional features include QR code address generation, biometric scanning to approve send transactions and a flexible set of user permissions.
Rehive has launched a white label wallet solution to perform the above-mentioned functions with the option of extending the wallet with some value added extension which include;
1. Rewards
An extension for configuring event-triggered rewards to one or many users or user groups in the form of rebates, discounts or simply loyalty points for actions such as registering or making a first transaction. Rewards can be configured for multiple currencies or even for your own token on the Stellar blockchain.
2. Notifications
Email or SMS notifications can be customised and configured for one of 36 event triggers to inform users of anything from an incoming transaction to a password reset action.
3. Blockchains
Activate either a live- or testnet for Bitcoin, Ethereum or Stellar to support cryptocurrencies in your app. Features of this extension include address creation (HD wallets), address monitoring (deposits), transaction broadcasting (send) etc.
4. Mass Send (New)
This extension enables a user (typically an administrator or merchant) to upload a CSV file containing multiple users, accounts and currencies with associated values which can be executed as a bulk payment instruction. This feature doubles up as a great tool for token drops!
5. Product Marketplace (New)
Need a cash out channel for your wallet? This extension allows merchants to list products in the app to allow users to make in-app purchases. Simply list the product details i.e. description, price, quantity etc. and Rehive takes care of the rest.
6. Checkout (New)
A web socket & documentation for merchants to integrate with your application and receive payments from your users.
7. Conversions (New)
Provides rates and basic conversions of all fiat-fiat, fiat-crypto and crypto-crypto currency pairs.
