I Walk the Shore
After dark.
Jervis Bay after dark
The blue and bioluminescence
As I walk along the shore
It reminds me of your essence.
When you are far away
I can hear your heart beating.
It arcs through the atmosphere.
Or at another meeting.
Is that you? I can hear calling.
Though you’re so far away
Is it drifting on the ocean waves?
Your sweet voice I hear today.
Or is it a whispering breeze
As it filters songs in dulcet tones
The talk in valleys and the hills
Sailing through the nether zones.
Is it an email wafting in the ether?
An SMS or mobile ding a linging
Or maybe opera from the heavens
A chorus of angels singing.
Whatever sounds are in the air
The waves splash upon my shore
And reverberate in my senses
Till I can’t hear you anymore.
