Do you remember when bouncing was fun?
When the blue sky was filled with the sun?
Now we always look down,
Check the earth is still round,
Instead of bouncing we swipe with our thumbs.

Do you remember when rain was a game?
The thrill of gumboots and puddles and drains?
Now clouds never leave,
And grey skies don't breathe,
This umbrella can't beat back the shame.

Do you remember when everything was new?
And questions spilled out in a spew?
Now the cynic knows all,
That's what Google is for,
In which hole did wonder fall through?

Do you remember the last time you laughed?
Rib cracking, sphincter popping, full heart?
Now your lip’s barely move,
Except to shrink and disapprove,
A smile’s not a bad place to start.
