Infinite Light

A never-ending tale.

Photograph thanks to my grandson, Felix.

Faster than greased lightning
In flames, I shoot on by.
Then, merge into the universe.
And never will I die.

Nights of lights that disappear
Systemic shooting stars
Fast and vast and fathomless
Past Jupiter and Mars.

I’m on my way I couldn’t stay.
You see, I’m infinite.
On the wing, you hear me sing.
On my flight into the night.

If you blink or stop and think
Moments fly away
The Milky Way is melting,
I knew she’d never stay.

My magic is immeasurable.
I’m a never-ending tale.
Ask for me to come again.
I’ve never been for sale.

In between the banks and boundaries
Still as polished glass
Like shadows through a twilight land
I watch the heavens pass.

Far past bright city lights
Where the air is crystal clear
Stars splash like diamonds.
And seem so very near.

Mysteries surround my mind.
Answers are incalculable
Infinite and out of sight
Raiment of dishabille.
