Sunlight Sings
Her first serenade.
There’s more to life than pain and strife
And ancient history
The birds and bee’s streams and trees
Are nature’s mysteries.
Each day is a discovery
When I walk outside my door
I drink the air and stop and stare
And meet mysteries not seen before.
Turn off the tap and the torrent subsides
Turn on the light in the night
Dispense with dreams nothing as it seems
I wake from stage fright to delight.
The morning breeze weaves in streams
Sunlight sings her first serenade
Golden light replaces the night
A new day is on parade.
Down by the shore, there’s a further delight
Mysteries from the sea
Far from the hilly horizons
I see why it’s so unique to be.
Parades of peace and paradigms
Templates of nature’s mysteries
Before my eyes, my whole soul sighs
When lost in fantasies.
Back on earth the birth of mirth
Brings a smile to my face
Nature’s mysteries latent memories
Lights up the human race.
