The Air

I breathe.

You slip right through my fingers
my life is your command
I cannot breathe without you
nor hold you in my hand.

You are the breeze and disappear
when nighttime cools the land
and often change in temperature
you’re hard to understand.

I can see right through you
yet when I seek the truth
you evaporate into thin air
your actions are so smooth.

You fill the sky in summertime
and amalgamate with mist
raindrops fall right through you
and my lips you’ve kissed.

Transparency is everything
I’ll be with you till I die
I cannot live without you
even if I try.

If you left, I’d evaporate
dissolve and disappear
I rely on you for oxygen
I need you to be near.

You envelop me in your arms
you’re with me all the time
you govern my existence
and regulate the clime

I cannot do without you
please stay another day
you are the air that I breathe
don’t ever go away.
