Cloud Design Specification — A new knowledge-sharing technology for cloud adopters.
Reindeer Technology Pte. Ltd. released ‘Cloud Design Specification,’ which will allow the accumulation and sharing of the knowledge for cloud computing adoption, under an open-source license. It aims to provide a standard means of recording information necessary for cloud computing procurement, facilitate smooth communication between parties working together, and allow the gathering and reuse of information both within the company as well as beyond.
Cloud Design Specification will be available on the website below for viewing and redistribution, free of cost. Through its maintenance and the subsequent free releases of related tools to follow, we hope to build a society where developers and engineers can utilize cloud computing ever more efficiently.

This technology will provide a standard notation for recording knowledge necessary for cloud procurement. In particular, it will clarify important information, such as service objectives or an individual’s motivation. It will also encourage the participation of planners and engineers who do not specialize in IT infrastructure construction, in the procurement process, and will prevent miscommunication and the overlooking of requirements and such. Furthermore, although project procurement information up until now was disorderly and did not follow any uniform format, they can now be easily organized and compared, and this will enable the accumulation, sharing, and reuse of cloud computing know-how within and outside an organization.
Background of Development:
Cloud computing is indispensable to developing websites and digital services at this age. The growth of the cloud services market will rise to nearly three times that of overall IT services by 2022, and the top two segments in terms of growth rate, IaaS and PaaS will expand to market sizes of over 108 Billions of U.S. Dollars (Source: April 2019 Gartner).
In such a rapidly growing market, the difficulty of gathering and sharing technological know-how becomes a central issue, and our Cloud Design Specification was developed as a way to address it. This technology is a part of the Reindeer Project, and in the future, we aim to spread the usage of the Cloud Design Specification through subsequent releases of related open-source tools and the open databases.
