Q3 2018 — Rekd Quarterly
Last quarter we highlighted the three buckets that all of Rekd’s updates will revolve around:
- User expression
- Recommendations
- Engagement
Q3 of 2018 continued our focus on these key areas with us honing in on giving our members the ability to express their reactions to their favorite movies in a fun new way, while also giving members more ways to consume “extension content” that is being created about the different series that they love. These new features and our focus on these areas appear to be exactly what our users want to see, reflected by the 4 digit percent jump in our monthly average users this previous quarter.
The first way we have been focusing on user expression and engagement has been by creating a new Explore feed to allow members to see reactions from friends that they follow and also top critics on the platform. In addition to reactions from profiles that they follow, users can also see video content from members in our Friends of Rekd partnership program. We launched our Friends of Rekd program last quarter, partnering with top Youtube creators to host their movie related content in the Rekd app, allowing their content to reach a broader audience of people that we know are already interested in the specific content that they are creating! The content by these creators further takes you into the universe of these huge series, enhancing users’ experiences with them. “Extension content” like fan theories, reviews, makeup/cosplay tutorials, etc. are perfect for allowing users a new way to truly engage with the movies on our platform and we are looking forward to add new partners to our already amazing list of content creators (aka our friends)!
In addition to connecting members to content by critics they follow, the Explore Feed will be another place to connect our members with movies recommendations and other picture/video based content they may enjoy. We’re really excited about all of the opportunities this new feed gives us in terms of giving people a better way to interact with like minded members about the content they mutually love!
Our Explore Feed and features like our new Inbox (organizing and making it easier to have conversations) all set us up for the amazing new features to come in Q4 expanding on everything done in Q3. Keep your eyes peeled in the weeks to come!
