Barbie Singer was the ex-wife of Dr. Mark Singer DDS. Jack Applebaum had met her at a silent Art Auction to raise money for the victims of Terror. It was a bit awkward for Jack as he knew Mark Singer through his B’Nai Brith lodge. When he and Barbie grabbed a coffee after the event, he confessed he knew her ex and she laughed. ‘’Mark knows everybody. We didn’t have an acrimonious divorce. He fell in love with his hygienist and we agreed to go our own ways after twenty two years of marriage. Our kids were cool with it and Mark and I are friends. I have no hesitation about dating anyone who might know him. In fact, it makes me feel better. Jack will let me know what he thinks of the person. The date ended with a kiss when Jack accompanied Barbie back to her car, so he immediately asked her out again and she accepted.

The first official date for Jack and Barbie took place at the Clemenview Theatre. There was the world premier of a new musical called ‘’Lost In Toronto or Cabbagetown is Stinking.’’ It was funny and enjoyable. The couple went to the Library Bar at the Park Plaza hotel for after show drinks and to sit around and just shoot the breeze. It was a lovely night.
