Attribution and Fair Use
Last updated 29 September 2024.
The focus of this Medium publication is the analysis of time travel and temporal events as depicted in fictional works. As a result I include content in my articles that are not my own. This includes the use of screenshots, or screen captures, as well as quotations from the works themselves.
Attribution
As these images are not my own (I’ll style them to be more interesting, but that doesn’t change the ownership of the original work), I attempt to attribute them to the correct copyright owner in all good faith. All reasonable effort is taken to ensure that the correct copyright owner is attributed.
Fair Use
Quotations from copyrighted works, as well as the use of screen captures, are claimed as acceptable uses of the copyrighted source material.
I consider these as permissible, without requiring prior authorisation, under the following laws:
- the United States Copyright Act, Section 107, for purposes of criticism or comment;
- the Australian Copyright Act of 1968, Section 41, for purposes of criticism or review.
