We’ve just launched a platform that makes ticketed livestreams made easy. This means you can earn money while connected to your fans in a beautiful ad-free experience. Hello, Release Party.

Example of a party

Let’s step back. What’s the story behind Release Party?

Several years ago I had thought of the concept of bringing release parties online, after being inspired by the HQ Trivia mania of 2018. Ever since then, I’ve wanted to bring this together. Anyone who knows me will know that this is something I’ve been banging on about for several years — but never did anything about.

In late 2019, after being encouraged by my housemate, Artur, I decided to make a real push into bringing this into a reality. I bought the domain, and started on some mockups. Release Party was coming! The initial idea was simple — artists would be able to sign up and host an event to share their latest music. Fans around the globe could join and listen to the new release together.

After working on some of the initial mockups it became apparent that this could be an excellent way for people, in general, to monetize livestreams. This has become even more relevant in the wake of Covid-19.

So, after reaching out to some old friends, development for Release Party began.

How does it work for artists?

Artists simply sign up on the platform, provide their payment information, schedule an event, and then go-live. They can then share a public link to their fans. Fans can pay in seconds using card or Apple Pay and boom: they’re in. Everyone counts down to the stream until the party starts.

Once the party is over, artists get paid out within days — thanks to Stripe Express.

Artists are provided with a livestreaming endpoint and can broadcast using any encoding software such as OBS, Wirestream, or any other platform. This means any (appropriate) audio or visual content can be streamed to fans.

Get started

We’re really excited about getting this into artists’ hands. Right now you can sign up to join the waitlist with our aim to have the first parties begin mid-April 2020.

No matter if you’re an artist, a manager, a label, events organizer, an investor, or someone who wants to work for us; please email support@releaseparty.live and we’d love to hear from you. This is just the beginning.
