First phase of $1 million-plus project open to public

ALBANY, N.Y. (July 12, 2017) — The Albany Distilling Company (“ADCo”), Albany’s first licensed distillery since the beginning of Prohibition, announced the opening of the patio area at their expansion site at 75 Livingston Avenue, where the company is undergoing a $1 million-plus expansion.

The patio will be open Thursdays through Saturdays from 4 p.m. until 10 p.m.

This patio is an integral part of Albany Distilling’s recent renovation of their new location. At this new location, you can get a variety of cocktails made with ADCo products. The Rockefeller Room, located upstairs, and the patio bar are both available to be rented for private functions along with the patio bar opening Thursday through Sunday.

“Albany Distilling is excited to finally open up the patio area to the public. It’s been a long time coming with both the patio and our new location as a whole, but we are thrilled with the progress we’ve made so far,” said John Curtin, co-founder and co-owner.

Recently, the state legislature passed a bill, sponsored by Senator George Amedore and Assemblymember Patricia A. Fahy, that would allow farm distillers such as Albany Distilling to serve farm-based beer, wine, and cider products by the glass. The bill awaits action by Governor Cuomo. ADCo has taken this into account and has positioned themselves well for when this opportunity is available to them.
