Chatham Brewing to host Hop Fest on Aug. 19

Celebrate summer and share in the harvesting of Chatham Brewing’s own hop crop

CHATHAM, N.Y. (July 14, 2017) — — Chatham Brewing, Columbia County’s first and finest brewery in New York’s upper Hudson Valley, is hosting Hop Fest on Saturday, Aug. 19 at 4 p.m. at the brewery, located at 59 Main St. in Chatham.

The hops are finally ready to be harvested, and Chatham Brewing is celebrating the arrival of their precious crop with the community, and all those who love their beer. Hop Fest will include live music, a bucket filling contest, games for the whole family, and delicious food from Main Street Kitchen, Chatham’s in-house dining service. The event is free to attend.

At Hop Fest, all patrons are encouraged to help pick the hops right from the bines. This is a unique opportunity for lovers of beer because they will be directly contributing to the production of their favorite beverage. The hops that are harvested at this event are an integral part of one of Chatham Brewing’s highly anticipated beers, Hop Crop IPA- a wet hopped harvest IPA.

“Hop Crop IPA is one of our most highly anticipated beers and we are excited to include the lovers of our products in the brewing process. Chatham Brewing was built on the support of our community and continues to thrive because of it. Hop Fest is our way of saying thank you and making sure that everyone realizes the impact they have on us,” said Tom Crowell, co-founder and owner, Chatham Brewing.
