Campaign will run through March 1 in support of the needy of the Capital Region

GUILDERLAND CENTER, N.Y. (Jan. 24, 2019) — Remarkable Liquids, New York State’s premier craft beverage distributor, has launched its Be Remarkable Clothing Drive, a region-wide collaboration campaign between nearly 25 craft beverage producers and restaurants in New York’s Capital Region to collect clothing in support of local charities.

Patrons will be able to donate clothes ranging from sweatshirts, sweat pants, coats, and miscellaneous, gently-used clothing. Each location will have a Be Remarkable box where patrons can drop off their donations which will then be allocated to the Interfaith Partnership for the Homeless.

“We’re always looking for ways to better use our resources in benefit of the community and with the recent weather, a clothing drive seemed like the best way to do that,” said Spencer Noakes, general manager of Remarkable Liquids. “We have the trucks to pick up and drop off donation boxes, and plenty of partners in the Capital Region who are happy to join us in doing what we can for those in need. We’re excited to kick this off.”

The campaign will run from Jan. 24 through March 1.

“Throughout the year, IPH connects homeless and low-income guests with the resources they need. In this extreme cold, it is even more important to have access to warm clothing and winter coats,” said Janine Robitaille, executive director of Interfaith Partnership for the Homeless. “We are grateful for Remarkable Liquids extending their network to do their part for the community. Clothing donations will go directly to those who need it most.”

“Winter is a very trying time for those without a roof over their head, it’s heartwarming to see one of the largest businesses from our community use their network and partner with others to help out those in need,” said Assemblymember Patricia A. Fahy. “Thank you to Remarkable Liquids, Nine Pin Cider, Rare Form, and Zero Gravity Brewing for working together to bring this project to life.”

“The Be Remarkable clothing drive is an incredibly innovative and thoughtful use of Remarkable’s resources,” said Assemblymember John T. McDonald III. “I think we’re all excited to see just how much these guys can do with the network they’ve built in the community over the past few years.”

“Remarkable Liquids has not only done a great thing for our community by both organizing and running this clothing drive, but also by giving other local businesses the opportunity to participate themselves,” said Darius Shahinfar, Albany City Treasurer. “It’s these kinds of events that are core to our community in the Capital Region, events that bring people together for a cause greater than themselves.”

“Seeing businesses come together to help their community is a part of what makes Albany, and the greater Capital Region such a special place,” said Georgette Steffens, executive director of the Downtown Albany Business Improvement District. “With the extreme weather we’ve experienced lately it’s uplifting to know that businesses like Remarkable are making such efforts to take care of those less fortunate.”

The initial participating locations include the following:

The Ruck (Troy)
Oliver’s Beverage (Albany)
Westmere Beverage (Guilderland)
Lost & Found Bar & Kitchen (Albany)
